EnviroStars

EnviroStars is a pollution prevention certification program provided in Snohomish, Pierce, Kitsap and King Counties in partnership with the Puget Soundkeepers Alliance and the Puget Sound Clean Air Agency.

King County awards businesses two to five stars depending on their demonstrated commitment to reducing and managing hazardous waste. Four Seasons Cleaners is proud to be rated at 5 Stars; the highest possible rating. We have re-qualified for this rating each year as we’ve taken steps to manage our dry cleaning chemicals in a responsible manner and use the least amount of chemicals possible.

Some specific steps we’re taking

  • We recycle our paper, cardboard and plastic waste. We also encourage our customers to return unused hangers to us. If we can reuse the hangers, we will. If they can’t be reused then they are recycled.
  • Installed high efficiency lighting throughout the plant. We worked with Seattle City Light in their energy conservation program in this lighting retrofit which has reduced our electrical consumption.
  • In 2003 we worked with Puget Sound Energy to install a high efficiency boiler reducing our consumption of natural gas.
  • Four Seasons Cleaners and its management take a leadership role in the dry cleaning community in encouraging and teaching other dry cleaners to be responsible stewards of our environment.
